Headache relief in 7 steps!

If you're reading this, you likely suffer from headaches. These steps are designed specifically for tension headaches, which typically present as pain around the headband of your head, in a question mark shape around your ear, or in and around your eye. The body is complex, but it always strives to return to a state of balance. I want to empower you with these effective strategies to manage and alleviate your headache today.

Here are seven steps to help you find relief:

  1. Remove Yourself from the Stimuli: Identify and distance yourself from headache triggers like bright lights, loud noises, or stressful environments. Taking a break can significantly reduce the headache's intensity.
  2. Practice Diaphragmatic Breathing: Engage in deep diaphragmatic breathing for 2 to 3 minutes. This technique helps reduce tension and increase oxygen flow to your brain, promoting relaxation and headache relief.
  3. Use Hydrotherapy: Apply a cool compress to the back of your neck and heat to your feet. This method helps dilate and constrict blood vessels, aiding in pain relief. Also, stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
  4. Gentle Stretches: Perform gentle stretches targeting your pectoralis major and minor, and upper trapezius muscles. Stretching these areas relieves tension and improves blood flow, helping alleviate headache pain.
  5. Essential Oils: Apply peppermint essential oil, diluted with a carrier oil, directly to your neck, upper back, and temples. Alternatively, use a blend of lavender, frankincense, and peppermint oils. These essential oils are known for their soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
  6. Use Tuning Balls: Roll out your pectoral muscles, upper traps, and suboccipital muscles with tuning balls. This deep tissue technique can release muscle knots and reduce headache symptoms.
  7. Identify the Root Cause: Understanding the underlying cause of your headaches is crucial for preventing future occurrences. Subscribe to our email list to receive more tools and information on identifying and tackling the causes of your headaches.
